SA Learning Technologists pass prestigious Bb Certified Trainer Programme with flying colours

Learning Technologists from around South Africa demonstrated their professionalism and willingness to develop themselves earlier this month. The energetic group completed a demanding three week trainer’s certification in the Blackboard Learning Management Platform. Run by Eiffel-Corp, part online and part face to face at University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, participants were challenged to address pedagogy and theory, instructional design and learning styles. To achieve the qualification they all had to demonstrate they could develop an effective training lesson for one specific Blackboard tool, and that they could go beyond mechanical ‘point and click’ training.

The benefits to the participants, and their home institutions include: a globally recognized standard validating their skills as a trainer; increased competence, productivity and recognition within their institutions; membership to the exclusive online certified trainer community including free workshops and discounts on training materials.

“The group knew it was going to be an intense course, and it was. But they’ve been so committed to fulfilling the workload, and have all made an exceptional contribution’ said Gwen vd Merwe, Eiffel Corp’s Blackboard Trainer ‘I’m really proud of their accomplishments. They all deserved their qualification; their home Institutions should be proud of them.’
